The principals of SDR Ventures — Andy Limes, Chris Bouck and Travis Conway — have formed Coulton Creek Capital, a private investment firm that makes debt and equity investments in lower middle-market companies.
Based in Greenwood Village, Coulton Creek provides capital to operating companies seeking to raise between $500,000 and $3 million. The firm also will invest in real estate opportunities. It recently completed its first transaction, providing equity financing to SecurCare Highlands Ranch, a storage facility company.
“Coulton Creek’s goal is to help solve inefficiencies in the marketplace for opportunities that require $3 million or less of capital,” according to a company newsletter. Chris Hanks joined Coulton Creek Capital in September as the managing director.
Previously, he was the CFO of HealthTrans, a privately held pharmacy benefit manager. During his 11 years at HealthTrans, Hanks partnered with the management team to grow revenue from $4 million to $300 million, close $50 million in acquisitions and raise $100 million in debt and equity to fund those acquisitions, as well as a minority private equity recapitalization.
Limes, Bouck and Conway will continue to operate SDR Ventures.
